Nigel Platts, Managing Director
After training and working as a COBOL programmer, my career in technical authoring began with the software services division of McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing). I worked for McDonnell Douglas for 5 years, eventually becoming Technical Publications Manager. In 1991 I left McDonnell Douglas to start Armada, where I have worked ever since.
I specialize in delivering training courses, consultancy projects and creating knowledge base systems. In my spare time I’m usually found in my vegetable garden or walking my Labrador, Molly.
Lynne Wilton, Projects Director
I have worked with Armada for 10 years and I am Projects Director of our technical authoring team. My strength is creating software documentation for end users, making hard to understand processes easy to follow. During my time with Armada I have built strong, working relationships with key clients. My broad skillset lends itself well to the flexible approach that many of our clients require; as client products develop, I adapt my working style and writing platform accordingly.
An experienced user of Adobe Robohelp, Atlassian Confluence, Zendesk knowledgebase and MadCap Flare, I also do a mean headstand!
David Rose, Technical Director
I was Armada's first member of staff, almost 30 years ago, and am now Technical Director.
Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of projects, creating web-based help, user guides, context-sensitive help systems, policies, procedures, and more – for many organizations, from small start-up firms to large multinationals like Logitech, BP, Boots and Philips. I’m an Adobe Certified Expert in RoboHelp and an Adobe Certified Instructor, and also have extensive experience in many other authoring applications, including Microsoft Word, MadCap Flare, and Adobe FrameMaker. When I’m relaxing, I often enjoy spending time on the golf course and I’ve even twice had a hole-in-one!
